XXII. The Apislavia Congress was held in Moscow from 9 to 13 September 2018.
The congress was organized by the team of the chairman of the Russian Union of Beekeepers and Beekeeping organizations of the country "Beekeeping" O. K. Chupakhina, and the main sponsor was "Agrobioprom". Detailed information about XXII. The Apislavia Congress can be found at www.apislavia.ru.
The congress was held in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses . We had the privilege of talking to 5,000 beekeepers about our activities, especially IMYB. The ceremony was followed by a spectacular performance by the Kremlin Ballet Ensemble, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, the Beryazka Folk Ensemble, the Children's Ballet and the choir.
On the second day, the opening ceremony of the beekeeping exhibition was held at the Sokolnik Exhibition Center. The exhibition center also hosted lectures on beekeeping in selected countries of Apislavia, the state of health of bee colonies and their treatment, the quality of honey and bee products, as well as a separate block of lectures on apitherapy. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the organizers gave us enough space to give lectures to the Congress participants about our activities, and especially about the IMYB international meeting of Young beekeepers. During the Congress, we established contacts with many countries that promised to participate in our events in the future. We are pleased that we were able to reach an agreement with delegates from various Apislavia member States to hold national rounds of beekeeping competitions for young beekeepers in their respective countries. At the same time, we promised them our help in organizing these national tours.
We participated in this Congress as representatives of ICYB, the International Center for Young Beekeepers. The purpose of our participation was to further expand the international cooperation of beekeeping youth.
The beekeeping exhibition was also very interesting. Among the largest exhibitors are Agrobioprom and Leeson. We are very happy that these companies are already supporting national teams in some countries to help them participate in our IMYB events. We consider this support very important, as we would like to be able to get teams of young beekeepers from other countries. We would like 35 countries to participate next year in IMYB in Slovakia, and at least 50 countries in Slovenia a year later. We will keep you updated on our progress on our website.
